About The Balanced Working Mom

For moms trying to balance work, home, kids, and themselves.

Hi, I’m Anjali Sharma.

I’m a mom to my loving seven-year-old son, Dhairya, a wife, and a daughter-in-law living in a small joint family in a small village Haripura, Punjab.

I’m also a work-from-home mom, trying to do what so many of us do every day, give 100% at work, 100% at home, and still somehow find five quiet minutes to drink a cup of chai while it’s actually hot. Spoiler: it rarely happens!!

Everything I share on The Balanced Working Mom comes from real-life experience, trial and error, and the systems that actually work in our home.

My goal is simple: help other Indian working moms save time, reduce stress, and feel less alone in the daily juggle.

Why I Started This Blog

I started The Balanced Working Mom because I kept searching for advice that felt real for women like me. Advice that understands what it’s like to live in an Indian household, where traditions, responsibilities, and expectations from women can feel endless.

I didn’t want perfectly curated routines from someone with a nanny, a chef, and unlimited time. I wanted honest, practical tips from someone living the same daily juggle, full-time work, a busy child, a home to run, family responsibilities, and a mind that never fully switches off.

So I decided to become that person. Or at least, I’m trying to be.

My Story

“It is not about doing everything right. It is about trying, learning, failing, laughing, crying sometimes, and still showing up the next day.”

Before I got married in 2017, I was living in Bangalore and working my first corporate job after completing my MBA.

Then I met my wonderful husband, Dr. Vikas Purohit, on matrimonial app. Somehow, the connection felt real from the beginning. He was in Leeds, England, at the time, and we decided to get married.

The funny part is that we didn’t even meet face to face until he arrived a few days before our wedding.

After we got married, we moved to England. It was a beautiful time in our lives, if you know what I mean.

But unfortunately, six months after our marriage, we lost his mother. That changed everything for us. We decided to leave our life in England and come back home to take on our responsibilities as the ghar ki badi bahu and beta.

Since then, we have been living in a small village.

Two years later, my son was born. Then Covid happened, and life gave me an unexpected opportunity to start working again, with the support of my loving husband.

Since then, I have been working as an SEO consultant for a company based in Portugal, handling clients from the UK, the USA, and other parts of the world.

Thanks to the internet, and in some strange way, thanks to Covid – I found my way back to work while still being present for my family.

And that is where The Balanced Working Mom comes from.

What You’ll Find on The Balanced Working Mom

Here, I share the real side of being a working mom in India.

The messy, beautiful, tiring, and honest parts of managing a home, raising a child, working full-time, and still trying to take care of yourself.

I write about my life journey, parenting, work-from-home routines, home and homemaking hacks, kitchen tips, product reviews, and anything else that helps make everyday life a little easier.

From keeping kids busy during deadlines to managing the house when you have no energy left, from feeding everyone without losing your mind to finding small moments for yourself; this space is for everything you need to take care of your home, your work, your child, and yourself.

I write about: Kids & Parenting, Work & Productivity, Home & Kitchen, Self-Care & Wellness, Product Reviews, Real Life as a Working Mom and much more. Please check out my blog.

Is this only for working moms?

Not at all. Everyone is welcome here.

This space is mainly for working moms, especially Indian moms trying to manage work-from-home, kids, family expectations, household responsibilities, and a never-ending to-do list.

But it is also for husbands, family members, and anyone who wants to better understand and support the working women in their lives. Because sometimes, balance is not something one person can create alone. It becomes easier when the whole family learns to support each other.

My writing style

Warm, honest, and no fluff. I write the way I would talk to a friend over a cup of tea, sometimes a little desi, always practical, and never preachy. I’m not here to show you a perfect routine or tell you how to have everything under control. I’m here to share what actually works in real life.

The kind of real life where the Wi-Fi stops working, the child is bored, the kitchen is a mess, and there is still a deadline waiting. This is a space for simple ideas, honest stories, and small hacks that help you get through the day with a little more ease.

One Thing I Want You To Remember

Balance is not a destination. It is something we try to practice every day.

Some days, you manage everything beautifully. Some days, you just get through the day. Both count.

You don’t have to do it all perfectly to be doing enough. Even on the days when it really doesn’t feel like it, you are still showing up.

And that matters.

Let’s grow through this season together.

No spam, no noise, no twelve emails a day. Just one honest note from me each week, with a new story, a useful recipe, a gentle reminder, or first access to the free resources I create.
